Capturing Subscriber's Email Addresses

Troubleshooting

Tracking My Subscribers

Once a user chooses to allow push notifications from your website they will then be added to your subscribers. In the main dashboard of Push Connect Notify, you will see two graphs of your subscriber count, one in bar graph format, and the other in a line graph format.

You can view subscriber specifics for each campaign, by clicking the "gear" icon next to a campaign and selecting "View Details" from the drop-down menu.

This will bring you to the dashboard of that specific campaign. Here you will be able to see subscriber counts by type of browser, the number of email subscribers (if the feature is turned on), a total subscriber count, a direct subscription link, a raw subscriber log, and a map of subscribers.

Filters

To view and filter all your subscribers, select the "Subscribers" from the top bar of PCN.

You will be brought to the "My Subscribers" page, where you can filter your subscribers, and create Inclusion and Exclusion lists from the results. You will be able to filter your subscribers by Browser, Devices, Campaigns, Countries, and Last Click Date.

Inclusion and Exclusion Lists

After settings and filtering your subscribers, as a Pro member you will be able to create lists and exclusion segments from the results. You can then send PushLetters to this specific inclusion list, and also exclude certain users by using the exclusions lists.

Please Note: Push Notification subscribers must opt-in and actually choose to receive the notifications.  An import/export of subscriber information would bypass this opt-in and allow push notifications without approval. Additionally, since users are added on the basis of their browser, and not their email address as with traditional email marketing autoresponders, we are provided a browser key when a user subscribes which acts as their subscriber ID. That browser key will only work via Push Connect Notify, hence - we cannot support imports or exports.

Capturing Subscriber's Email Addresses

To capture your subscriber's email address you will first need to have an autoresponder set up. Please see the  Autoresponder Integrations FAQ for more information about setting up an autoresponder.

Once you have an autoresponder integrated into your account you will then be able to switch on the "Capture Subscribers Emails" inside of a Campaign's settings. You can navigate to a campaign's settings at any time by clicking the "gear" icon next to the title of the campaign you would like to edit and selecting "Edit Campaign".

PushConnectNotify is a Push Notification tool that also syncs with your chosen Autoresponder platform to transfer email addresses. The PCN system is only designed to send Push Notifications and is not capable of sending emails.

While PCN does help maximize the ability to capture email leads and eliminate the need to manually transfer information from one tool to the other, we do not send emails of any kind to your subscribers or play any role in how you interact with your email list.  We simply transfer contact information so you are able to communicate directly with these subscribers via your AR platform.

For more information about how to email your subscribers once their contact information has been captured, please refer to the instructions provided by your chosen AR platform.

Please Note: Due to privacy and security purposes, PushConnectNotify does not retain subscriber email addresses within our system. When a visitor opts-in to allow notifications, our system coordinates (via API or custom HTML integration) with your autoresponder platform to transfer captured emails directly. PCN only maintains a record of the number of emails that were transferred to provide reporting statistics.

If your PCN account is integrated with an AR platform, and your campaign is set up to capture emails - all captured emails will be found within your autoresponder.

Any additional reporting, analytics or list management features can be found in your autoresponder. For more information about these reportings, analytics or list management, please refer to the instructions provided by your chosen AR platform.

Troubleshooting

If you feel your subscriber count is dropping there are generally 2 reasons why you may experience this:

  • The customer may have turned off push notifications. When a customer unsubscribes from your push notifications list they are automatically removed from your reporting and you cannot add them back in as a subscriber.
  • The PCN AutoScrub feature was activated. If a push notification cannot reach the  subscriber's  browser, it cannot be delivered. If the system attempts to deliver messages to your client but is unsuccessful 10 times in a row, PCN AutoScrub will automatically scrub the user as inactive. This helps maximize delivery for your active subscribers.

Please Note: The PCN AutoScrub feature does not impact subscribers with delivered or clicked notifications, it only removes subscribers who cannot receive push notifications.
